Néronde : 2000 years of history, Pierre Coton's homeland, confessor of Henri IV and private tutor of his son Louis XIII.

The cecltique source of Douâ situated in the "petit bois" gives evidence of the ancient(former) activity(occupation) of places. In Ier century, Néronde is on the hill around the chapel : show of it Titus Messala's cippe which serves as pedestal in its font.

In the XIV-th century is built a surrounding wall(speaker) strengthened around the fort built in the XI-th century.

The towers of "Eggs" and "Cotton", the murderesses of the former(ancient) wall strewed of there, the door of stone Gort of ogivale shape, the narrow alleys and their houses with half-timberings, the place pillory are so many witnesses of this time. The chapel of the XII-th century, on a hook dominating the village, deserves an attentive stop(ruling). Given evidence in 984, enlarged in the XIV-th century, she(it) is remarkable with her(its) Romanic bell tower - wall, her(its) "gallinière" - wooden architectural court - sheltering a piéta of the XVI-th century, her(its) statues, her(its) altarpiece and her(its) frescoes of the XIV-th century and of the XVII-th century.
