Being perched on a promontoir dominating the plain of Forez, Jas, honored in 1963 as the most flowery municipality of France, inhales the peace, the serenity and the tranquilité sweet of a small village of morning mountains.
Of the city hall in the church, along alleys and on the edge of windows, by way of restaurants, hotels, shelters and guest houses, the petal, the sheet(leaf) in the four corners(places) of the village give the impression(printing) of an immense natural garden.
In 1956, the father Pallanche, the priest of Jas, the passionate person of horticulture and floriculture, begins then to clean and to decorate with flowers the tour of the church then the village.

In 1962, Jas receives the 1-st local price and in 1963, the 1-st national price comes to reward all its efforts. Since the village did not stop growing more attractive and is classified " 3 flowers " outside the competition since 1967.
The visit free of the village or accompanied allows to discover the standing 25 000 feet of flowers here and there. The church of the XV-th century of Romanic style with a front door in walnut of style Louis XV and a small harmonious inside is to discover. A viewpoint indicator situated in the garden of the City hall since which a magnificent sight extends over the plain and Evening mountains waits for you.
At your disposal of numerous trails of pedestrian drive(ride) and at the edge of D60 you will discover a pile of granitic cliffs called "Pierre sur Autre".
