In 999, the monks of Cluny settle down to Pouilly, near Feurs, in the plain of Forez, where from the "Pouilly-lès-Feurs-en-Forez" name on the former(ancient) documents.
They build the Romanic Church during the XI-th and XII-th centuries, using stones of the region and the elements sculptured by more former(ancient) buildings.
Only the top of the bell tower is more recent. To notice inside the diverted choir and details of chapitaux. Of the XII-th in the XV-th century, the monks build the prieuré. Reshaped in several times, today restored, it is a remarkable building(ship).

One discovers it to the first floor the room of the justice and its two prisons, in the first floor three rooms with monumental fireplaces and in the second floor an exhibition of "old tools and traditions" with suits of campaigns and religion.
The monks build also the fortifications consisted of ten tours(towers) and two doors. A single tower is completely destroyed(annulled), new the other are visible altogether or partially. In the XVI-th century, the constructions ramparts go out then and Saconnin makes build Pravieux's castle. Only visitable, the pavilion of Pravieux, style the Renaissance, possesses, on the walls of the first floor, frescoes varied to admire.
