Salt-en-Donzy, place of transition enters the plain of Forez and morning mountains, has a history which goes back up(raises) very far.
Antique vestiges show that the gallo-Roman environment was important : Roman well, carpenter's tools, shards of potteries, currencies... A source of tepid water to 32 ° called were discovered(found) as well as "Thick Warm(warmly)" and the vestiges of a gallo-Roman hydropathic establishment.

Church, was for its foundation, the church of the prieuré. The current church, of Southern influence, possesses a Romanic choir with its openings in full round arch(hanger). Between the transept, the bell tower rests(bases) on four enormous granite pillars among which two are crowned with very simple capital(big top).
